GMT adds fifth partner

The media- and communications-focused investor has made two promotions, including a new partner.

GMT Communications Partners, a European private equity firm that focuses on the media and communications sector, has promoted Natalie Tydeman to partner.

Natalie Tydeman

Tydeman joined GMT in 2007 as a senior advisor. Prior to this, she spent four years at Freemantle Media, where she was senior vice president, business diversification. She previously worked for Fox Kids Europe, Discovery Communications Europe and Excite Europe.

Tydeman becomes the fifth partner at the firm, which is led by its two co-founding managing partners, Tim Green and Jeff Montgomery.

GMT has also promoted Vikram Krishna to principal. Krishna joined GMT in 2005 as a portfolio reporting analyst. He was involved in the acquisition of Titan’s UK-based roadside billboard assets by GMT portfolio company Primesight, completed in September 2009

From its base in London, GMT invests in media companies across Europe. Last year the firm completed a number of add-on acquisitions for portfolio companies. Business information company DOCUgroup, a GMT portfolio company since 2004, bought the Nordic assets of media group Reed Business Publishing in September. Earlier in the year DOCUgroup acquired fe.bis Service, a database business operating in Germany and Austria, which provides groups of users such as homeowners with information on how they can access government subsidies.

The firm is currently investing GMT Communications Partners III, which closed in July in 2007.
